Our arrival in Amsterdam was bright and early - way too early, leaving us stumbling around in a brain fog for the rest of the day. The early morning light made even the mundane look impressive.
We enjoyed seeing cows, barns, windmills and pasture as we left the city and headed towards the town of Groesbeek, where we'll be staying until Saturday.
We had fun doing local grocery shopping and buying indulgences that are not mass produced nor come in enormous amounts: we browsed delicious-looking cold cuts, cheeses, breads, wines and other delectable dairy offerings. We bought more than we anticipated, so the walk home was a little cumbersome.
We HAD to take a nap just after midday - it felt like it was already 4-6 pm, but then we followed the nap with wine and cheese and soon began feeling drowsy all over again!
