Groesbeek Sights

We've been doing a lot of walking in and around Groesbeek, which is very easy to do. So many bicycles, with everything geared up to accommodating them.

Parking for cars in the shopping street is difficult and minimal, and where there are parking spots, some are actually on the sidewalk!

Local Catholic church we passed on the way home:

We stopped for s delightful local snack at a cafe, which seems to specialize in frying all food in hot oil. After the owner carefully checked his oil supplies, I was confident I wouldn't be ingesting soy by mistake. The recommended fries with peanut sauce had to be passed over, but I was able to enjoy their other item: fries with curry sauce, mayonnaise and chopped onion.

I'm loving the attempts to provide habitat for birds and small animals with these 'dead hedges' which can be seen all over the town:

Dried, trimmed branches are neatly placed and stacked between posts, providing a kind of thicket in which animals can shelter, forage and breed.
