Into the Blue

Our first day of adventuring was taken up entirely with traveling to get to our destination. Car, to bus, to plane, with a ton of waiting for our flight from Logan. I wouldn't have it any other way.

We gave ourselves more than enough slush time to deal with any and all contingencies at the airport, which made for a very relaxed airport experience - we whiled away the time pretty easily with Internet, audiobooks, Sudokus and crocheting before we got up into the blue to head towards Amsterdam.

I wrote my blog at 37,000 feet, traveling at 540 mph, with nothing much to report except for the fact that my dearly beloved 'discovered' that he'd unintentionally, automatically, inadvertently put a folding work knife into his pocket out of habit when he dressed for our trip, like he did every time we left to work on Linus and Rachael's house! Of course, he only discovered it after we'd already dropped off our checked bags and we were about to go through security. Now what?

He removed the blade and threw it in the trash, but of course, after examining the work knife shell carefully with gloves, Security deemed it not permissable in his carry-on. So, bye-bye best Milwaukee work knife. What a silly mistake! We thought we'd had all bases covered and then this DUH moment crept in. All along I had been teased that my crochet hook would be taken away and it shouldn't be in my personal carry-on - that metal curved 'skewer' sailed through but a blade-less knife did not!
