A Special Delight

I was down at the water's edge a few days ago, admiring the afternoon light on the edges and transitions between land and shore ...

... when the white-ish look to the sphagnum moss in the bottom right corner drew my eye to it. It was as stiff as a board and frosted white - so incredibly beautiful up close. (It also reminds me of how, on the 29th anniversary of this day, I was able to see my daughter up close for the first time, though her whitish film was something else!).

Here we all are, 29 years younger!

Beauty up close - nothing beats it!

I know I've said this many times before, but this moss' resemblance to miniature trees still impresses me.
