I've been having fun working on drying and pressing aquatic plants. I think I'm a little too impatient for this, though. Here's how I arranged 2023's first fall bloom of the Swollen Bladderwort on September 24.
I kept wondering how it would turn out - it was hard not opening it up to see the result until it was fully dried out. I was a little worried about the outcome because the yellow flower had detached from its stalk in the latter stages of arranging, and that raft from which the flower subtends is very fleshy (I wasn't sure they'd be okay in the press. The rocks in the photo are merely there to hold it down and stop the paper floating up.
