Ode to a Lady's Slipper

Demure and bashful,
Peculiarly beautiful
In the shade of pines

Why do we call it
Lady's Slipper? It's scrotal ...
Unmistakably.

I'm not fixated
On wrinkled, pink testicles:
What do YOU see here?

Someone else I know just said the exact same thing about them! Nice poem. Keep 'em coming.

PS: When I look at your picture, I do see what could be a pink slipper. Maybe not the shape of a "Cinderella glass slipper" but more like a wide, comfy slipper with some pretty maroon edging along the ankle.

I have read that the slipper in its common name refers to a pouch or drawstring purse that ladies used to use. I'm still not buying it!
