A quiet winter walk in the woods turns noisy! The sound of snow beneath my feet is alarmingly loud, and my gait impacted by the crunchiness of the icy covering. There's no way to creep up noiselessly on something and catch any wildlife unawares with this situation. The only eventful part is the faint sound of corvids cawing about halfway through - I wonder whether they were alerted by the noise of my walk?
The sun had been shining and getting ready to set, and as you can see if you can endure it to the end, the lake ice is discolored in patches, and unevenly formed.
