Spectacular Ice Forms

I've been walking along our boardwalk regularly in our recent cold temperatures, and found that the lake ice (ever in flux this year) was reforming again. So I took a few pics and came back inside with 20 new shots of the same things! Bear with me ...


The edges are eggshell thin and fragile


The delicate formation at bottom left, below, reminds me of a Frilled Lizard


The different patterns and formations are intriguing.


I can 'see' a beautiful limpet shell in the one below:
