Buttery Yellow

This little beauty is called lesser St. John's wort or Hypericum canadense (I.D. verified by the Native Plant Trust).

It was hiding in the mossy lawn, harboring a spider. Another little jewel for me to enjoy!


This flower is teeny - only about 5 mm (roughly 0.2 of an inch) across, the size of the white wool fragment in my pic:
