Such a lovely, bonding time - we stayed inside for much of the day, not only because of the rain, but because our reminiscences and stories kept prompting further memory dalliances down the rabbit hole. It was delightful, but with the two 4-leggeds needing some exercise, we decided to walk through Queenswood together in the latter part of the afternoon.

There were more tree hugging capers and bench posings, of course but this happens when it's been 9 years since your last group photo! It's Broder-bonding
It was getting late, and we had a dinner arrangement at 7pm, so Michelle took us on a flying ride up Clee Hill, the site of a quarry that was abandoned around 1930, and is showing signs of successful rewilding. Yay, nature!
Then it was a quick refresh before setting off for The Boot Inn - Dale rode in a 1929 Morris Minor with John's neighbor; quite a thrill.
We had a wonderful evening celebrating John's 60th birthday together - I think I had the most violent things on the menu: Battered haddock served on crushed peas. The champagne was a lovely treat.
Another grand day in the U.K., surrounded by family, and wrapped in fun.
