What a marvelous day! Our 'early' start of 9:30am was impressive for there being three Brodericks in the party! On the way to our destination in Wales, we stopped in Hereford to give the dogs an opportunity to stretch their little legs.
We loved the 11th century Bronllys Castle we came upon by chance.
No rain so far! We found a pub (The Red Cow) that was open on Mondays (not easy to find), and which allowed the dogs inside, so we indulged in some good fare and happy, hilarious exchanges.
One of the items on the menu was Dirty Fries, which reminded me of Poutine. This Welsh 'take' on it was fries, sliced steak, jalapenos and melted cheese - I believe it was a pretty good choice. They also served Faggots and Peas, can you believe it?? What the heck?
Patrick had the brilliant idea of "asking a local" about the best local walks in the area, and we got the jackpot. They sent us to to Aber Falls in Talybont Forest - what a beautiful series of cascading waterfalls that were super easy to access (and had lots of slippery rocks)!
Heaven's here on earth, folks - enjoy being here! This place is magical and I was in my element. This exquisite moss wall was totally captivating. I'd love to have an indoor living wall in my home like this. The fresh breezes that waft over you as you get closer to the falling water is energizing and beautiful.
Dale was in peak comic mode and had us all in stitches most of the day. Whilst listening for birds, Michelle called out that she had a coal tit, so Dale suggested she put a sweater on! This sent us all into hysterics, and at one point in the car on the way back home, we were handing out tissues to dry the tears from our faces - so much laughter as to cause our stomach muscles to ache the next day!
Of course, we've been getting in as many siblings pictures as we can manage - it's like herding cats!
So many special moments today!
