I really can't tell exactly what has caused this yellowing, or curdled-looking yellow growth on the milfoil at the receding water's edge. When I agitated it, it fell off the plants, like little breadcrumbs or cheese curds.
I suspect it must be an algal growth, or bacteria? It only occurred in patches, not throughout the shoreline, and only where it was very shallow.
