Will the blight end the chestnut? Will Trump destroy the U.S.?
The farmers rather guess not. His base thinks not, is my guess.
It keeps smouldering at the roots He keeps appealing to their fears
And sending up new shoots And starting up new smears
Till another parasite Till a new and fresh insight
Shall come to end the blight. Shall come to end this blight.
Frost recognized the cyclical nature of things; for me, I can only hope there is something different (better) in store for us after the 4 years following Jan 20, 2025 ... that will "end the blight."
On this, MLK's remembrance day, I shall focus on his hopeful words: "We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope"
