How lucky am I to live beside a lake and have such serene scenes to keep me soothed as we await a snowstorm, with possible power outages.

It's hard to believe this is January, and we have mostly open water, with ephemeral thin ice, occasionally.

The reeds and grasses aren't under snow cover either, and a flock of birds (unidentified) rose from cover as I approached.
