As March drew to a close, the cove water, which had finally become fluid, returned to a thin skin of ice on the surface each night. Look at how beautiful it looked.
The newly arrived wood ducks came to explore our cove the same day, and there were some parts where they had to walk on snowy ice.
Up until then, we hadn't been using our woodstove consistently on a daily basis, and so crystals began growing on the rim of our humidifying vessel where dissolved minerals were deposited. The encrustation around the edges of our water pot was quite intriguing.
