Crunchy Ground

Our overnight temperatures have dropped dramatically, making the ground crunchy to walk on in places where the moisture in the soil has frozen. It makes vertical columns as it rises to the surface, and lifts the soil up with it.

It can create air pockets beneath that look craggy, and collapse when something heavy walks over it.

It can look like a small burrowing animal has been busy on the lawn.
